Stitch-a-Longs

This year, I am doing several SALs. Am I crazy? No I don’t think so. I really enjoy these and feel as if they really motivate me to gain finishes and stay on target. Plus, I love reading the blogs and all their adventures!

Stitch from Stash

stitch-from-stash-bannerI have this really bad habit of buying all new threads when I kit up despite having a good stash of threads. So this year, I am going to make every effort to kit up from that stash! And unless I actually start a new princess, I shouldn’t have to buy any new fabric. So, here’s hoping! I have selected a $15 USD budget. So here’s hoping that goes well!

Rainbow SAL – Connie Gee Designs

rainbowsalplacementThe Rainbow SAL by Connie Gee Designs is a free SAL. She’ll update us with a free pattern each month. You pick your own colors, so this was the perfect one to actually be a true Stash Stitch and maybe use up some of my black (I have a lot of it). The border is already released, so I have in fact started that. It is really a beautiful border pattern and I think I’m going to miss working on it when I am finished with it. I’m doing it in DMC 310, 644, and 646.

January DMC 309.

Birthstone Dragons

birthstonedragonsidebarBirthstone Dragons is a mystery SAL by Ingleside Imaginarium. Every month she will release a new dragon. I look forward to this one because DRAGONS!!! You know I have a minor obsession with them. I also saw the January dragon and I think I will greatly enjoy this SAL. It is stitched on 28 ct. Cashel “Regency” by PictureThisPlus. The border is finished and am looking forward to the dragons!

Fabulous Women in History

fabwomenbuttonFabulous Women in History is a year-long mystery SAL by Cloudsfactory. They will release two designs every month. Only the color list has been released, and I’m a little frustrated as the Weeks Dye Works they picked I can’t buy anywhere for some reason… I’m really hoping 123Stitch restocks before this begins, or I’ll be using the DMC conversions (but that is probably what I will kit). It is stitched on 32 ct. Belfast “Whimsey” by PictureThisPlus.

Joyful World

Technically, I’m late to the party on this one. Joyful World is a free primitive cross-stitch made by the Snowflower Diaries. All the months have been released (because this was last years) but I will be making an attempt to do one a month. They will all be stitched on the same piece of fabric, so it will make a really cool wall decoration when I’m done. It is going to be stitched on 32 ct Belfast “Ale” by PictureThisPlus.

Smalls SAL

2017smallssal-2The Smalls challenge is to stitch one small piece (you decide what is small) per month and post it on the last Friday of each month. This will be my first year participating in the Smalls SAL, but I did stalk the heck out of it. I’ll be likely using the Birthstone Dragons as my Smalls, they are about 40×40 stitches. I’m really looking forward to this one! Heck, I adore all sorts of SALs.
